I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar), where I have been leading the Human-AI Interaction (HAIx) Lab since February 2023. My lab focuses on developing intelligent, transparent, and user-centric human-machine interaction systems. I received my B.Tech. and M.Tech. degree in information technology from the IIITM Gwalior, in 2010 and a PhD in computer science from Ulster University, UK, in 2018.

From 2021 to 2023, I served as an AI Software Development Engineer and later as a Senior AI Software Development Engineer at the University of Essex, UK, where I worked on an Innovate UK – UKRI-funded project in collaboration with Mersea Homes Ltd. Prior to that, from 2018 to 2021, I was a Postdoctoral Research Officer in the Future Interaction Technology Lab at Swansea University, UK, where I worked on an EPSRC-funded PV Interfaces project in collaboration with Google, DST Innovations Ltd, and IIT Bombay. Earlier, from 2017 to 2018, I served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Assistant at the School of Computing, Engineering, and Intelligent Systems at Ulster University on a GCRF UKRI-funded project. I was also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Mechatronics at IIT Kanpur from 2015 to 2018, where I worked on the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) project.

My research work focuses on two main directions: (1) delivering intelligent technologies and systems, and (2) transforming community health and care. In particular, I have contributed to the development of novel human-centred technologies designed for use by the elderly, people with disabilities, children with dyslexia, emergent users, and non-tech-savvy users.
